Well, okay, maybe not us directly, but our good friend Josh Krajcik has made it to the final three on America’s debut season of The X-Factor. It’s been pretty surreal to watch a friend be a part of something so extraordinary and enormous just by doing what he does best. In a way, it makes the world feel a bit smaller, and in a way, you get instantly attached to a broadcast television program like you never thought you ever could. I swear, I’ve personally never been so excited for anything in my life.

Tonight is the LIVE airing of the final performances on FOX, and afterward he’ll need as many votes as possible to secure his chance at winning the $5 Million dollar recording contract! Follow this link for instructions on how to vote.

Voting takes place only after the broadcast ends! Please, please, please VOTE as many times as you are able! We can’t think of a more deserving talent to win.

Overexposure. We played our songs so many times this past summer, to so many of the friends and fans we love, that we feel the need to bring you something new. We’re reinventing what we do. We don’t want to be that hot new fling you’re willing to take to the next level, to be the one you see everyday, only to notice that after a few months we’ve stopped going to the gym and we’re eating cake for breakfast with no shame. No…not us. Delicious cake? for breakfast?

Anyway, we’re finishing writing the material for our next full-length record. There’s an awfully good chance we may even start recording it before you see us again. The one thing we do know for sure is that we’re really excited about what we’re doing, and it’s going to be well worth the weight….err…I mean, wait. Mmmmm….cake.

In the meantime, we plan on doing updates on our progress as often as possible including blogging, videos and maybe even random snippets of the new songs. If there’s anything you’d like to see us post, let us know.

Perhaps you caught it when it aired, but nearly 1 Million people happened to check it out after the fact at the time of this blogging. Check it out here:

To try and explain our feelings about it is hard. To see your friend step on a stage of that caliber and potential, to do what he loves, and what he absolutely does best…and then get the glowing response you know he was always deserving of is absolutely indescribable. That clip is 7 minutes of absolute joy and elation. Everything about this is so surreal.

We had to rehearse the night of the airing to prep for a show, so we weren’t able to watch it with him, but we Joe did happen to secretly grab our reaction from the corner once we heard “He’s On!” yelling from upstairs.

We wish him the absolute best and we couldn’t be more excited and proud.

Well, in general, the Patterson brothers are pretty quiet. Bishara drives but likes to talk. Usually about really important things, like what all 48 flavors of hot wings are at a particular pub, or perhaps dictating each speed limit sign he’s seen for the last 183 miles while we were all fast asleep (or pretending to be.)

…but Jenny…she’s pretty much like this the entire time….

We love her so. We truly do.

Dress to impress

After many people asking us, we’ve finally got hard copies of our CD’s and our T-shirts available for sale online, courtesy of our awesome friends at Make Believe Monsters! If you’ve been jonesing for some Darlings swag, but haven’t been able to make it out to a show to pick it up, order it up! Quantities are limited, but we’ll do our best to keep ‘em available if people want them. Be sure to check out all the rest of the Make Believe Monsters shirts and swag… they make some awesome stuff, and are a great group of folks!

Thanks so much to everyone who came out and showed us a good time. Thanks to our friends in Molehill for once again helping us put together a great night. Special thanks to Dr. Mike for housing our friends for the evening, and extra special thanks to Dave “Punch-face” Newman for putting the Darlings up in the swankiest of swank high-rise places that we typically wouldn’t be allowed into.
